Day 10. Yikes.
Just so you know, I am doing this to raise awareness and money to support the Prostate Cancer Foundation, LIVESTRONG, and the Movember Foundation. Would love your support here.

I must have been a little kid the last time I saw the Blue Angels. I got to relive some of those airshow memories on a Saturday trip to SF, where Fleet Week brought the Blue Angels to the city.
From Blue Angels
We got to the city a bit late so we missed a lot of the other airplanes. Plus, we stood around waiting for the Muni for 15+ minutes as tram after tram passed us, crammed with people....
I finally got around to posting some photos I took while I was in Hyderabad and Singapore. You can check them out here: India | Singapore.
A couple things to note:
1. I love Singapore Airlines. It was just as nice as my Emirates flight, without the 16 plane ride from SFO to DXB. However, the layover for an hour in Seoul/Hong Kong extended the journey to a similar length. If only it was one of...

This is my fifth trip to India and everyone in the office is telling me I should buy a house here. Given the housing market in Silicon Valley, it’s not a bad idea!
For some reason, I did extremely well with the jetlag here. Last November I was completely wrecked when I flew out here for a week – couldn’t sleep, woke up at 3 or 4am, and was just exhausted the whole time. This time, I’ve been...

Technically taken in week 51 BUUT I didn’t take many photos this week and I don’t want to have yet another photo backlog when I’m back from Tahoe for New Years. Anyway, this is Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck. On the opposite side they make some delicious garlic and olive oil fried shrimp. It’s decadent and a must have if you’re out on this side of the island. They also let you write on their truck!...

The folks over in the Google Wroclaw office shot a nice video about life there. Even though I spent just 1 week there, I’m happy I know almost everyone in the video!

Last two weeks have been really busy. Work has been hectic and I’m now growing accustomed to 7AM meetings. My sleep schedule still hasn’t adjusted so coming in early is difficult. Throw in a few late night meetings too. And at home, planning a wedding is taking up time. Along with a recent 30K maintenance for my Prius, a trip to the eye doctor, and entertaining visiting coworkers from India.
I’ve...

I took out my camera to document how my two pairs of denim were doing today. It’s Day 305 for my Imperial’s. The legs are really worn in at this point. Any more and it will split:

A few weeks ago the company I work for gave out free bike helmets, mostly to emphasize to employees that safety is important when biking, and that riding between buildings even without a helmet isn’t a great idea. So, we all got free helmets! That Friday we gathered at Charleston Park to take a photo together. Thanks to Wysz for taking this one:
Unfortunately, sometime after the group photo and...
Almost forgot to recap a team trip to Sonoma last Sunday. We rented a 15 passenger van and drove up to Sonoma for some wine tasting and merriment. We stopped at two wineries, Iron Horse and Gary Ferrell.

Two weekends ago I was in Washington D.C. I finally uploaded photos so what naturally follows is a blog post.
To start, we took a red-eye out of SFO to get to Dulles. I don’t recommend this – the flight was a bit too short so we only got around 5-6 hours at most and since it was a really bumpy flight, I think I was near 1-3 hours. We landed in Dulles and took a $70 cab ride to our hotel in...
Last weekend I was up in Napa for the 34th Annual Tour of Napa. I signed up for the 65 mile ride after David organized a group, then Arden signed up. Then Nelson and Justin. Besides waking up at 5am and being under oppressive heat during most of the ride, it was quite enjoyable! Biking around wineries and minimal climbing is my kind of ride, although I’m not sure my co-riders would agree with the...

Went on another bike ride this past weekend. From Wilmot’s house, Lucy, Wilmot, and I rode over to Nelson’s place, where we met up with Henry, Arden, Justin, and Nelson to ride out to Foothill Expressway. We then took El Monte to Elena Road and back to Homestead Road. We crossed the bridge over highway 280 back to Pumpkin. At that point me, Lucy, and Wilmot road home on Prospect road. It wasn’t a...

Work has been interesting lately. A few months ago I wrote a few scripts that got data from one source and put it elsewhere. Turns out this was useful for a lot of people. A few days ago, the thing stopped working. I search internally, asked several large mailing lists for help, and after a few helpful souls offered assistance, I was able to figure out the problem. Besides running some commands...
Went for a long bike ride this past Saturday. From 280/84 in Woodside over Old La Honda, down to San Gregorio Beach, and back up Tunitas Creek and down Kings Mountain. It was around 41 miles, which is a distance with which I have no problem. But, we climbed 4700 meet, comprised of two climbs: Old La Honda and Tunitas Creek. A few miles in is when we encountered OLH, so I had enough stamina and...

I participated in the Santa Cruz Wharf to Wharf this past Sunday. It was my second time and this time I did it with barely any training. I think the most I ran was 3+ miles at work on the treadmill. Well, I didn’t expect to beat any records. It was more to just do it, get a t-shirt, and donate some money to Santa Cruz athletic programs. Charlene, Ryan, Kolina, and I were up early – around 6AM to...

I spent Sunday-Tuesday at Sunset Beach. Thanks for Wilmot and Lucy for organizing an excellent trip. We did some car camping, which meant little hiking and no high elevations to mess with your head. Plus, we had Omaha steaks, bratwursts, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, tiramisu, and s’mores to eat. A highlight of traveling with these folks is that there is no substitue for the food – it’s always top...
This past weekend I went to Hakone Gardens. It was my first time and I thoroughly enjoyed the visit. I can see how it could be a really nice retreat or spot to relax and have some tea.
